TEF Canada 8-week study plan
A proven schedule from first diagnostic to exam day. Adjust the pace to your level — 4 weeks from B2, 12 weeks from B1.
Week 1 — Diagnose
- Take one free mock in each module (reading, listening, writing, speaking).
- Record your estimated CLB band per skill. Your lowest is your priority.
- Start a mistake log (a simple doc or the in-app mistake review).
Week 2 — Foundations
- Daily 30-min drills on your two weakest skills.
- Learn the writing templates (fait divers + argumentative).
- Learn the speaking frameworks (Section A questions, Section B persuasion).
Weeks 3–4 — Volume
- 2–3 timed mocks per week, alternating skills.
- One writing task and one recorded speaking topic per day.
- Review every answer — the review is where the score improves.
Weeks 5–6 — Exam conditions
- Switch listening to exam mode (audio plays once, no rewind).
- Write both writing sections in a single 60-minute sitting.
- Track your estimated CLB band weekly with the CLB calculator.
Week 7 — Simulation
- Run a full exam-day simulation: reading + listening back-to-back with a 10-min break.
- Repeat your three worst mocks; close out the mistake log.
Week 8 — Taper
- Reduce volume; re-do known material only.
- Rehearse speaking frameworks aloud daily.
- Rest well. Book the exam when your band holds at target across several mocks.
