How the AI Examiner works
- Do the task for real. Write a timed Section A or B task, or record your speaking answer with the official timers.
- One click. Press “Get your AI Examiner feedback”. Speaking answers are transcribed first, so you see exactly what the examiner “heard”.
- Get examiner-style results. An estimated overall CLB/NCLC, four criterion bands (task achievement, coherence, vocabulary, grammar), 4–6 line-by-line corrections with explanations, and three tips.
- Study your perfected answer. The AI rewrites your text or speech — same ideas, corrected French, one level up — so you learn from your own material, not a generic model.
- Look up words without leaving. Inside every mock test, tap any French word to see its meaning, dictionary form, and an example — an AI-powered dictionary built into the page, so you never switch to Google Translate mid-practice.
- Build your vocabulary automatically. Every word you look up lands in My Vocabulary — a personal revision list built from your own practice, with a quiz mode that hides the meanings until you try to recall them.
Why this beats waiting for a tutor
A private tutor charges CA$30–50 for one hour and one round of feedback. The AI Examiner reviews dozens of your tasks for less than the price of that single hour — instantly, at midnight before your exam if that's when you practise. And because it's built into the same platform as the 39 mock tests and the topic banks, every piece of feedback links straight back into your practice loop: test, get graded, fix, repeat.

Frequently asked questions
What is the TEF Canada AI Examiner?
An AI that reviews your actual practice work — your written tasks and your own voice recordings — and returns an estimated CLB/NCLC level per criterion, specific corrections, improvement tips, and a corrected version of your answer that keeps your ideas.
Does AI feedback cost extra?
No. Unlike competitors that sell AI feedback as a paid add-on, the AI Examiner is included in the single 30-day access price (CA$30, or ₹1,999 in India), with a generous usage allowance. Free accounts get one AI writing and one AI speaking sample to try it.
How accurate is the AI's CLB estimate?
It grades against the official CLB/NCLC criteria and the TEF Canada task formats, and in practice tracks well with how examiners think — but it is an estimate for training purposes, not an official score. Only the real exam produces an official result.
Can the AI really grade my own voice recording?
Yes — that's the standout feature. It transcribes your recording (so you can see exactly what you said), grades the content, fluency signals, vocabulary and grammar, and rewrites your answer as a polished spoken version you can rehearse.
Is my writing or recording used to train AI models?
No. Content sent for feedback is processed by our AI provider (OpenAI) only to generate your feedback and is not used for model training. See our Privacy Policy for details.
