TEF Canada AI speaking practice — your own voice, graded

Speaking is the scariest section to prepare alone. Record your answer to a real Section A or B task, and the AI Examiner transcribes it, grades it against CLB criteria, and shows you the polished version of what you tried to say.

What you get on every recording

  • A full transcript — see exactly what the examiner would have heard, filler words and all.
  • Estimated CLB/NCLC level — overall plus four criterion bands: task completion, fluency & coherence, vocabulary, grammar.
  • Corrections from your own speech — what you said → the better French version → why.
  • A polished spoken answer — your ideas rewritten as something you could say next time, with the structures the task rewards.
  • 3 tips — targeted at your actual weaknesses, not generic advice.

Built on the real exam format

Every recording happens inside the real task setup: 159 exam-style topics with images, the official preparation and speaking timers, model questions and rebuttals, and useful expressions. The AI feedback is the missing piece — the examiner on the other side of the table.

Frequently asked questions

How does AI speaking feedback work?

Record your Section A or B answer with the official timers. The AI transcribes your recording — so you see exactly what you said — then grades task completion, fluency and coherence, vocabulary, and grammar with an estimated CLB/NCLC level, corrections, and a polished version of your answer.

Can it judge my pronunciation?

It grades from the transcript, so it evaluates your content, structure, vocabulary and grammar rather than accent. That's most of what the speaking score is built on — and it tells you this limitation honestly in the feedback.

What is the 'polished version'?

The AI rewrites what you tried to say as a natural spoken answer — your ideas, corrected French, with the structures the task rewards (varied question forms in Section A, concession + counter-argument in Section B). Rehearse it aloud and your next attempt jumps a level.

How many speaking reviews are included?

Up to 10 AI reviews per topic — record, get graded, rehearse the polished version, and re-record the same task (fair-use limits apply). Free accounts get one sample review. Re-opening an already-graded recording is always free.

Do other platforms offer this?

A few offer AI chat practice — but almost none transcribe and grade your own real recording of the actual exam tasks. Practising with your own voice against the real Section A/B format is the closest thing to a private examiner.
